Assemblywoman Barbara Buckley
Speaker of the Assembly
Clark County
District # 8
Attorney
Speaker Buckley was first elected in 1994. She served as
Majority Leader during 2001, 2003 and 2005, the first woman to hold this
position. She was elected Speaker in 2007, also the first woman in this
position, and she was re-elected Speaker for the 2009 session. During her
tenure in the legislature, she has chaired the Assembly Commerce Committee, the
Nevada Legislative Commission and the Committee on Children, Youth and
Families.
Speaker Buckley represents Assembly District 8, a diverse
district that includes Chinatown and older, established neighborhoods in
central/western Las Vegas.
Because of term limits, Speaker Buckley will be leaving the
Assembly at the end of this term. Her commitment and expertise on consumer
protection issues particularly the patients bill of rights, creating access to
Canadian prescription drugs and stopping predatory lending as well as her work
on child welfare issues will be sorely missed.

Assemblyman Anderson was first elected in 1990. He is
the Speaker Pro Tempore of the Assembly. During the last session, Assemblyman Anderson
was the Chair of the Judiciary Committee. Additionally, he served on the
Taxation Committee, the Commerce and Labor Committee, and the Corrections,
Parole and Probation Committee.
Assemblyman Anderson represents Assembly District 31
encompassing east Reno from Wells Ave. to McCarran (north of I-80)
and Sparks-- east of Pyramid to Vista and south of Queens Way.
Because of term limits, Assemblyman Anderson will be leaving
the Assembly at the end of this term. During his 19 years of service in the
legislature, Mr. Anderson fathered the Drug Court program in Nevada and worked on victim’s right
legislation in domestic battery. Mr. Anderson’s first bill in the
Assembly established a special license plate for Purple Heart recipients and
that was followed by plates for UNR and UNLV as well as Pyramid Lake and
the Reno Rodeo.
Assistant Fire Chief, North Las Vegas Fire Department
Assemblyman Oceguera was first elected in 2000. He is
the Majority Floor Leader. During the last legislative session, Assemblyman Oceguera served on the Commerce and
Labor Committee as well as the Ways and Means Committee.
Located in South Eastern Las Vegas, Assembly District 16
includes portions of the University of
Nevada, Las Vegas
and the McCarran International Airport.
During the past session, Assemblyman Oceguera worked with
the Secretary of State to streamline business license filing for better
efficiency and accountability.
Assemblyman
Conklin was first elected in 2002. He serves as Assistant Majority Floor Leader.
He is was the Chair of the Commerce and Labor Committee during the 75th
legislative session. He also served on the Ways and Means Committee and
the Elections, Procedures, Ethics, and Constitutional Amendments Committee.
Assemblywoman Leslie
was first elected in 1998. She is the Majority Whip. She was the Vice-Chair of
the Ways and Means Committee during the 75th legislative session. Additionally, she served on the Taxation
Committee and the Health and Human Services Committee.
Assemblywoman Leslie
represents Assembly District 27 in Reno. The district encompasses
downtown and “old” Southwest Reno including the Virginia Lake and
Idlewild Park areas.
Because of term limits, Assemblywoman Leslie
will be leaving the Assembly at the end of this term. Her commitment to
improving the quality of health care and essential human services
available to all Nevadans, will be sorely missed.
Assemblyman
Horne was first elected in 2002. He is an Assistant Majority Whip. During the
75th legislative session he served as the Chair of the Corrections,
Parole and Probation Committee. He also served on the
Judiciary Committee; the Commerce and Labor Committee and
the Elections, Procedures, Ethics and Constitutional Amendments
Committee.
Assemblyman
Horne represents Assembly District 34 in northwestern Clark County.
The district is a diverse area of Las Vegas
which encompasses the Meadows Mall, Angel Park Golf Course and parts of Desert Shores.
As
a father, William has always considered education a top priority. Through his
work on the Judiciary and Corrections committees, he has also worked to improve
public safety—particularly the protection of children.
Assemblywoman Smith was first elected in 2000. She
serves in leadership as an Assistant Majority Whip. During the last
legislative session, she served as the Chair of the Health and Human
Services Committee and served on the Ways and Means Committee (chairing
the K-12 and CIP sub committees) and the Elections, Procedures, Ethics and
Constitutional Amendments Committee. In the interim, Ms. Smith chairs the
Stimulus Oversight Subcommittee and serves on the Interim Finance Committee,
Legislative Commission, Reapportionment Committee and Committee to Consult with
the Director.
Assemblywoman Smith represents Assembly District 30 in
Washoe County. The district includes portions
of Reno, Sparks
and Washoe County. The district is generally
bordered by the Pyramid Highway
on the east side, I-80 on the south side and US395 on the west side.It extends in to much of the north valleys,
including most of Sun Valley, Panther Valley, Golden Valley
and part of Lemmon
Valley.
Among her priorities for the last legislative session
were reforming state government to make it more efficient and accountable and
enacting measures, as chairman of the Health and Human Services Committee, to
improve patient safety in the aftermath of the Hepatitis C crisis.
Assemblyman
Aizley was first elected in 2008. In 2009, he served on the Government Affairs
Committee; the Taxation Committee and Natural Resources, Agriculture and Mining
Committee and now also serves on three interim committees: Public Lands,
Governance and Oversight of K-12 Public Education, and(the non-legislative committee) Education
Committee of the States.
Assemblyman
Aizley represents AD 41, a sprawling district in the southeastern section of
Clark County that includes McCarran Airport and the UNLV.
Recently
retired from UNLV and now Professor Emeritus of Mathematical Sciences,
Assemblyman Aizley considers improving education in Nevada, K-12 and higher
education—a top priority.
Assemblyman Arberry was first elected in 1984. During his
time in the Legislature, Assemblyman Arberrry has served in a number of roles
including serving as the Chair of the Ways and Means Committee and on the
Taxation Committee and the Commerce and Labor Committee.
Assemblyman Arberry represents Assembly District 7 in Las Vegas.
Because
of term limits, Assemblyman Arberry will be leaving the Assembly at the end of
this term. His expertise on issues of budgeting and finance will be sorely
missed.
Assemblyman
Atkinson was first elected in 2002. During the last legislative session, he served as the Chair of the Transportation
Committee, Vice-Chair of the Commerce and Labor Committee and served on
the Government Affairs Committee. During the interim between legislative
session, Assemblyman Atkinson will be chairing an important committee that will
look at ways Nevada
can diversify our economy by becoming a transportation hub for the nation.
Assemblyman
Atkinson represents Assembly District 17 in northeastern Clark County.
The district includes parts of the City of North Las Vegas
and unincorporated sections of Clark
County.
Assemblyman
Atkinson decided to run for office seven years ago to improve the educational
opportunities for his daughter and all other children of Nevada, and he decided that the only way to
do so was to "get involved.” Assemblyman Atkinson became a part of the
process, believing that the Assembly was the best place for him to bring change
and stay involved.
Assemblyman
Bobzien was first elected in 2006. Assemblyman Bobzien served as the Vice-Chair
of the Government Affairs Committee during the last legislative session. He also served on the Education Committee
and the Natural Resources, Agriculture and Mining Committee.
Assemblyman
Bobzien represents Assembly District 24 in Washoe County.
Assemblyman
Bobzien has been actively involved in community activities for a number of
years. Committed to working with others to make Northern
Nevada an even better place to live, raise a family, and retire,
he made the decision to run for the Assembly almost four years ago because he
wanted to participate in helping to craft state law on such critical issues as
education, renewable energy and use of open spaces.
Assemblyman Claborn was first elected in 1998. During the
last session, he served as the Chair of the Natural Resources, Agriculture and
Mining Committee and as a member of the Transportation Committee and the
Government Affairs Committee.
Assemblyman Claborn represents Assembly District 19 in
northeastern Clark
County.
Because of term limits, Assemblyman Claborn will be leaving
the Assembly at the end of this term. His commitment and expertise on issues of
public lands and wildlife will be sorely missed.
Assemblyman Denis was first elected in 2004. Assemblyman Denis
served as the Vice-Chair of the Education Committee during the last legislative session. Additionally, he
served on the Health and Human Services Committee and the Ways and
Means Committee. He was the co-chair of the Joint Assembly and Senate General
Government Subcommittee of the Ways and Means Committee.
Assemblyman Denis represents Assembly District 28 in central Clark County.
The district reaches as far north as the CSN-Cheyenne Campus and as far south
as the Clark County Family Court and Freedom
Park. The older,
established neighborhoods of Assembly District 28 primarily include working
families, a large community of senior citizens and a significant Hispanic
population.
In his work on the state budget, Assemblyman Denis was a strong advocate of
balancing the budget without destroying essential services, particularly
education.
Assemblywoman Dondero Loop was first elected in 2008.
During the 2009 legislative session, she served on the Education Committee; the
Judiciary Committee; the Corrections, Parole and Probation Committee and the
Transportation Committee.
Assemblywoman Dondero Loop represents Assembly District 5 in
northwestern Clark
County.
As a retired educator, Assemblywoman Dondero Loop is
committed to providing students and teachers the resources they need to be
successful.
Assemblyman Hogan was first elected in 2004. Assemblyman Hogan is the Vice-Chair of the Natural Resources, Agriculture and Mining Committee. He also serves on the Transportation Committee and the Ways and Means Committee.

Community Liaison/Academic Advisor, College of Southern Nevada
Assemblyman Kihuen was first elected in 2006. Assemblyman Kihuen
served on the Education Committee; the Transportation
Committee; the Judiciary Committee; the Corrections, Parole and
Probation Committee and the Elections, Procedures, Ethics and Constitutional
Amendments Committee.
Assemblyman Kihuen represents Assembly District located in central Clark County.
Representing a district particularly hard hit in this economy, Assemblyman
Kihuen worked hard on ways to help working families and retirees weather
today’s economic crisis while looking to the future.
Assemblywoman Kirkpatrick was elected in 2004. She is Chair of the Government Affairs Committee and the Vice-Chair of the Taxation Committee. Additionally, she serves on the Commerce and Labor Committee.
Assemblywoman
Koivisto was first elected in 1996. During the last legislative session, she
served as the Chair of the Elections, Procedures, and Ethics Committee and the
Vice-Chair of the Constitutional Amendments Committee. She also served on
the Taxation Committee and the Ways and Means Committee.
Assemblywoman
Koivisto represents Assembly District 14 located in eastern Clark County.

of term limits, Assemblywoman Koivisto will be leaving the Assembly at the end
of this term. Her commitment and expertise on health care and elections and
ethics laws will be missed.

Manendo was first elected in 1994. During the last legislative session, he was
the Vice-Chair of the Transportation Committee. He also served on the Commerce

Assemblyman
Manendo represents Assembly District 18 located in eastern Clark County.
Because
of term limits, Assemblyman Manendo will be leaving the Assembly at the end of
this term. His commitment to cracking down on drunk drivers and protecting
veterans and the rights of manufactured homes owners will be sorely missed.
National PTA Field Service Representative Supervisor
Assemblywoman Mastroluca was first elected in 2008. During
the 2009 legislative session she served on the Education Committee; the
Government Affairs Committee and the Health and Human Services Committee.
Assemblywoman Mastroluca represents Assembly District 29 in
the southeastern portion of Clark
County. The district
includes the area around the Galleria Mall, Whitney Ranch and the cornerstone
of the original Green
Valley master planned
community, built in 1978.
An active volunteer in the community, Assemblywoman Mastroluca
is a strong advocate of measures to improve our schools as well as working to
help children in the foster care system in Nevada.
Assemblywoman Kathy McClain was first elected in 1998.
During the last legislative session, she served as the Chair of the Taxation
Committee. She also served on the Ways and Means Committee and the
Commerce and Labor Committee, as well as several other standing committees
during her tenure.
Assemblywoman
McClain represents Assembly District 15 in eastern Clark County.
The district is an older area with developments from the 1970’s to the
present.Ms. McClain has always voiced
her opinion that Assembly District 15 is the best place to live in the Las Vegas Valley.
Because
of term limits, Assemblywoman McClain will be leaving the Assembly at the end
of this term. Her commitment and expertise on our state tax structure as well
as issues effecting seniors and veterans will be missed by her Assembly colleagues.She has decided to run for the State Senate
seat that encompasses her Assembly District to continue her commitment to the
citizens of Nevada.
Assemblyman Mortenson was first
elected in 1996. He served as the Chair of the Constitutional Amendments
Committee and was the Vice-Chair of the Elections, Procedures, and Ethics
Committee. In addition, Assemblyman Mortenson served
on the Taxation Committee; the Judiciary Committee and the
Corrections, Parole and Probation Committee.
Assemblyman Mortenson represents
Assembly District 42 located in unincorporated
Clark County—in
Spring Valley.
Because of term limits, Assemblyman Mortenson
will be leaving the Assembly at the end of this term. His commitment and
expertise on our state constitution and protecting our natural resources will
be sorely missed.
Assemblyman Munford was first elected in 2004. Assemblyman
Munford served on the Education, Government Affairs, and Elections, Procedures,
Ethics, and Constitutional Amendments Committees during the last legislative session.
Assemblyman Munford represents Assembly District 6. It is a
unique district that includes the older established neighborhoods of old West
Las Vegas, part of the downtown casino area, and places for community
involvement including Pearson and Doolittle
Community Centers.
As a retired school teacher, Assemblyman Munford is
committed to improving education for every Nevada child. Representing a district that
has been hard hit by the economic downturn, he is also committed to economic
development and job creation.
Assemblyman Ohrenschall was first elected in to the
Nevada State Assembly in November of 2006.
Assemblyman Ohrenschall represents Assembly District 12 in
eastern Las Vegas.
Assemblyman Ohrenschall is a native Las Vegan.
He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and expects to receive his law degree from UNLV’s
William S. Boyd School of Law in December 2009.
Assemblyman Ohrenschall understands the challenges facing our community. He worked the night shift at UPS to help
pay his way through college. He learned first-hand
the importance of fair pay, honest benefits, and decent working conditions — measures
he continues to promote through his legislative work. While working for UPS and in the convention
industry, Assemblyman Ohrenschall became a member of Teamsters Local 631.
Assemblywoman Parnell was first elected in 1998 to serve Assembly District
40 and has served a total of five regular sessions. During the last legislative
session, Assemblywoman Parnell was the Chair of the Education Committee and
served on the Judiciary Committee; the Corrections, Parole and Probation
Committee and the Health and Human Services Committee.
Assemblywoman Parnell is a leader on education issues and is committed to
working to addressing the real problems of her constituents.

Assemblywoman Pierce was first elected in 2002. During the last legislative
session, she was the Vice-Chair of the Health and Human Services Committee.
She also served on the Government Affairs Committee and the Taxation
Committee.
Assemblywoman Pierce represents Assembly District 3 in central Clark County.
Assemblywoman Pierce is a strong advocate for access to quality health care,
policies to help working families weather our current economic crisis and
quality of life issues such as clean air and water.
Assemblyman Segerblom was first
elected in 2006. During the last session, he served as the
Vice-Chair of the Judiciary Committee and the Corrections, Parole and
Probation Committee. He also served on the Elections, Procedures,
Ethics and Constitutional Amendments Committee and the Natural
Resources, Agriculture and Mining Committee.
Assemblyman Segerblom represents Assembly District 9 in
central Clark County.
Assemblyman Segerblom is a strong advocate for the
preservation of historic neighborhoods, elections reform, and fair employment
practices.
Assemblywoman Spiegel was first elected in 2008. During the
2009 legislative session, she served on the Government Affairs, Health &
Human Services and Transportation committees.
Assemblywoman Spiegel represents Assembly District 21 in the
southern portion of Clark
County. The district
includes portions of the Green Valley South, Silver Springs, Legacy, Green
Valley Ranch and Sun City MacDonald Ranch sections of Henderson.
During her freshman year, Assemblywoman Spiegel was a strong
advocate for job creation for Nevadans as well as neighborhood stabilization.
