Assemblywoman Ellen Spiegel

Assemblywoman Spiegel was first elected in 2008. During the
2009 legislative session, she served on the Government Affairs, Health &
Human Services and Transportation committees.
Assemblywoman Spiegel represents Assembly District 21 in the
southern portion of Clark
County. The district
includes portions of the Green Valley South, Silver Springs, Legacy, Green
Valley Ranch and Sun City MacDonald Ranch sections of Henderson.
During her freshman year, Assemblywoman Spiegel was a strong
advocate for job creation for Nevadans as well as neighborhood stabilization.

Assemblywoman Spiegel is the president of Strategems
Consulting, a consulting firm specializing in workers’ compensation claims
services for insurers and large employers. Spiegel focuses on the company’s
sales and marketing efforts, and spearheads audit management, quality assurance
and training program initiatives. Additionally, she works with select clients
on corporate events, strategic planning and internet-based
projects.
Prior to founding Strategems Consulting, Spiegel had
extensive corporate experience. She served as a member of the American Express
Worldwide Quality Assurance Team, where her work was recognized by Fortune
Magazine. Furthermore, Spiegel won two Quality Awards for her leadership in a
joint venture between IBM and Sears, and was responsible for the successful
implementation of quality-related programs for The Weather Channel and Williams
Worldwide. An early leader in the online/Internet industry, Spiegel is
the product manager who first brought The Weather Channel online and was the
founding chair of the Direct Marketing Association’s Internet Alliance’s Public
Policy Committee, where she helped author online privacy guidelines and e-mail
marketing guidelines that protect consumers and enabled the industry to
grow. Spiegel is also a past Board Member of the Direct Marketing
Association’s Internet Alliance.
In addition to her many professional accomplishments,
Spiegel serves as founding Vice President of the Board of the Friends
of Nevada Libraries and also serves on the Board of Directors of the Green
Valley Ranch Community Association. She also co-chairs Midbar Kodesh
Temple’s Mitzvah Brigade
(Social Action Committee) and is a founding officer of the Partnership for
Workforce Housing of Southern Nevada. She is a graduate of Cornell University
and is an active alumna.
