Assemblywoman Leslie
was first elected in 1998. She is the Majority Whip. She was the Vice-Chair of
the Ways and Means Committee during the 75th legislative session. Additionally, she served on the Taxation
Committee and the Health and Human Services Committee.
Assemblywoman Leslie
represents Assembly District 27 in Reno. The district encompasses
downtown and “old” Southwest Reno including the Virginia Lake and
Idlewild Park areas.
Because of term limits, Assemblywoman Leslie
will be leaving the Assembly at the end of this term. Her commitment to
improving the quality of health care and essential human services
available to all Nevadans, will be sorely missed.
A little more about Assemblywoman Leslie:
Assemblywoman Leslie is originally from Carmel, California, but has called Reno home for more than 30 years. Assemblywoman Leslie received her Bachelors of Arts degree from Sonoma State University and her Masters from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Assemblywoman Leslie
has served in a number of public roles including her service on the
board of directors for the Justice Center, the National Commission on
Children and Disasters, the Court Appointed Special Advocates
Foundation, and the Nevada Kids Count Advisory Council. Assemblywoman Leslie
has received numerous awards for her volunteer and professional work
including Public Health Legislator of the Year from the School of
Public Health at UNLV and Consumer Advocate of the Year from the Nevada
Justice Association.
Professionally, Assemblywoman Leslie serves as the specialty courts coordinator for the 2nd Judicial District Court.
Assemblywoman Leslie is the proud parent of one daughter, Emma. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hiking and skiing.
