Retired Operating Engineer

Assemblyman Claborn was first elected in 1998. During the last session, he served as the Chair of the Natural Resources, Agriculture and Mining Committee and as a member of the Transportation Committee and the Government Affairs Committee.

Assemblyman Claborn represents Assembly District 19 in northeastern Clark County.

Because of term limits, Assemblyman Claborn will be leaving the Assembly at the end of this term. His commitment and expertise on issues of public lands and wildlife will be sorely missed.

A little more about Assemblyman Claborn:

Assemblyman Claborn is originally from Arkansas, but moved to Las Vegas in 1957.

For more than 51 years, Assemblyman Claborn has been a member of the Operating Engineers Union where he initially he served as business representative and later as district representative. He remains committed to the work of the Operating Engineers and works with them on important issues today. Mr. Claborn is also an active member of the Shriners.

Mr. Claborn and his wife Carol have three children, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, hunting, fishing and woodwork.
