A little more about Assemblywoman Pierce:

Assemblywoman Pierce was born in Boston in the fifties. Her father was an Episcopalian priest and her mother was an elementary school teacher. She is the seventh of eight children including five sisters and two brothers. In the early 1970s, Assemblywoman Pierce struck out on her own and moved to San Francisco. For most of her career in Las Vegas, Assemblywoman Pierce was a food server at the Desert Inn. She worked at the Desert Inn until it closed in 2000.
