Assemblywoman Peggy Pierce

Assemblywoman Pierce was first elected in 2002. During the last legislative
session, she was the Vice-Chair of the Health and Human Services Committee.
She also served on the Government Affairs Committee and the Taxation
Committee.
Assemblywoman Pierce represents Assembly District 3 in central Clark County.
Assemblywoman Pierce is a strong advocate for access to quality health care,
policies to help working families weather our current economic crisis and
quality of life issues such as clean air and water.
A little more about Assemblywoman Pierce:
Assemblywoman Pierce was born in Boston
in the fifties. Her father was an Episcopalian priest and her mother was an
elementary school teacher. She is the seventh of eight children including
five sisters and two brothers. In the early 1970s, Assemblywoman Pierce struck
out on her own and moved to San
Francisco. In 1988, Assemblywoman Pierce moved to Las Vegas.
For most of her career in Las Vegas,
Assemblywoman Pierce was a food server at the Desert Inn. She worked at the
Desert Inn until it closed in 2000. Shortly after that she went to work at the
Culinary Union where she worked as the community liaison until September of
2005. She now works for the United Labor Agency of Nevada (ULAN) as the
resources coordinator.
In her spare time, Assemblywoman Pierce enjoys the desert weather and
hiking.
